Color Fastness of Black Prints on White Textile Substrates
The evaluation of color fastness of black prints on white weft-knitted fabrics, most frequently used for shirts, was carried out after usage simulation. Due to easier monitoring of changes of black print and white background, QR codes in printing size 100 x 100 mm with larger modules were printed on textile substrates using two the most frequently used printing techniques for knitted shirts: direct screen-printing and indirect transfer printing. As the standardized procedures for determination of color fastness to washing and rubbing did not fully meet the conditions of long-term care and wearing simulation, in the paper was proposed methodology for evaluation of print color fastness that includes the implementation of multiple washing and drying cycles, and repeated rubbing cycles.
