Philosophy and practice of home-made food in Croatia
The authors examine the shifting food market in Croatia by paying close attention to the usage of terms such as traditional, domestic and organic, which are sometimes used interchangeably with the purpose of enhancing product sales. The nexus between what is commonly perceived as "domestic" and "ecological" is consumer belief that the food bought at open-air markets is healthy and grown without pesticides.
