Effects of Disorder on Transport Properties of Extremely Scaled Graphene Nanoribbons

Influence of different disorders on the transport properties of extremely-scaled graphene nanoribbons is investigated using atomistic quantum transport simulations. We report the effects of different disorder strengths on quantum transmission, local density of states, and room-temperature ON- and OFF-state conductance. We find that transport gap could increase by up to 269% for realistic lattice defect densities. In the case of edge defects, ON-OFF conductance ratio increases up to 10^5 as defect density increases.
