Kinetic of Naphtha Catalytic Reforming. Influence of Space Velocity on Naphtha Composition Changes
In order to develop a kinetic model of reforming reactions the influence of space velocities on the change in composition of whole naphtha was studied. The activity of two commercial Pt-Re/Al2O3 catalysts (R-16 G and R-62) was tested in a pilot plant at space velocities 2.5-5.4 h-1, hydrogen: hydrocarbon mol ratio 5:1 and temperature 505 C. It was found that the low pressure catalyst R-62 is more active for dehydrogenation of naphthenes with six carbon atom rings, as well as dehydrocyclization of paraffinic hydrocarbons, than R-16G, while exibited higher activity in hydrocracking reactions.
