Aircraft Noise Models for Trajectory Optimization During Approach Procedure
Aircraft noise is still one of the leading socio-ecological problems in traffic and transportation today. There are many different studies that are aimed at noise mitigation of existing and future aircraft concepts. New technology initiatives are available from three different directions that will eventually enable reduction of noise emissions. One of those developing strategies is tools for trajectory procedure optimization that can be used for optimum vertical and horizontal approach and take-off procedures for every airport and aircraft. Optimization parameter constraints are set and different kind of cost functions can be used for optimization. Minimization objectives are usually as following: measured acoustic value, fuel consumption, engine gas emission, and other. The paper listed some of the most important method for reducing the impact of aircraft noise during approach around the airport area. We gave a review and classification of the basic noise models used in operational and research purposes for optimization of approach flight paths. In this work current tools for trajectory optimization and fast time simulation with special target at aircraft source noise models used will be explained.
