Corrosion Inhibition of Copper in Hydrochloric Acid Under Flow Conditions
The efficiency of 4-methyl-5-hydroxymethylimidazole as corrosion inhibitor for copper in hydrochloric acid under flow conditions was investigated. The influence of the temperature and flow rate on inhibited and non-inhibited corrosion system was studied. The addition of 4-methyl-5-hydroxymethylimidazole decreased the corrosion current densities of copper at all flow rates investigated between 25 and 45 C.
