Različiti pristupi učenja skijaške tehnike kod pravocrtnih elemenata i zavoja

The aim of this research was to define a more successful model of learning both basic forms of gliding and ski turns for ski beginners. The research included seven elements of alpine ski technique which were adopted by 120 ski beginners by two different approaches. Ski beginners were randomly assigned into two equally-sized groups, each learning elements of ski technique in a different manner. One group learned alpine ski directly, by parallel technique, while participants of other group combined both snow- plough and parallel technique during alpine ski learning. Duration of alpine ski learning and snow conditions were identical for both groups. After 7-days learning period participants were joined and their alpine ski knowledge was tested by independent judges. They were graded on a scale one to five for each of the seven elements of ski- technique. Factor analysis with Cattel scree test gave two statistically significant factors (λ=4.31 ; λ=0.97), explaining 75.52% of variance. According to the item of measurement it was concluded that first two factors in the joint sample of participants represent the ski knowledge. After Varimax rotation, basic forms of gliding represented by traversing left and right belonged to one factor and ski turns (uphill turn in the left and right side, basic turn, parallel turn and short turn) to the other factor. Using the t-test, difference between the participants of the two groups in the learning of basic forms of gliding (first factor) and ski turns (second factor) was further analyzed. Results showed no significant difference between the groups in the way of learning basic forms of gliding, but significant difference was observed in the learning of ski turns (p=0.01). To conclude, participants of the group which combined both snow-plough and parallel technique achieved better results on ski turns than participants using direct method of learning. On the other hand, both direct and combined learning methods are equally successful when adopting basic forms of gliding.
