Gradual decrease of the intensity attenuation function
The concept of dissipative fault was tested using laboratory model of two granite cubes pressed together. When blocks were knocked by the hammer, the temperature difference between observed points jumped up to 0.2 K confirming hypothesis of noticeable energy dissipation. This model could explain the shape of isoseismals in the Dinarides by gradually decreasing attenuation function.
isoseismals; intensity attenuation function; dissipative fault
