Atipic localization of Warthin's tumor.
Warthin's tumor is one of the benign tumors of major salivary glands. It was mostly found in parotid glands of male patients in their sixties. Warthin's tumor with extraparotid location is rare. It occures in 2, 7% of all Warthin's tumor. Our experience with 4 cases of extraparotid Warthin's tumor over 10 years is presented. All cases occured in extraparotid lymph nodes. In first three cases preoperative ultrasonograph, fine needle aspiration and CT scan diagnosis indicate to branchial cysts and in fourth case to non Hodgkin lymphoma. Postoperative patohistology analysis imply of extraparotid Warthin's tumor in first three cases, and on fourth case a sinchronous multicentric billateral Warthin's tumor in parotide gland with extraglandular Warthin's tumor of cervical lymph node. A series of four extraparotid Warthin's tumor are presented to illustrate the need to keep a high index of suspicion for this lesion in the workup of cystic masses involving cervical levels II and III or in event of concomitant neck mass and a parotid Warthin's tumor.
