Teaching English as a Foreign Language in Composite Classes
While most teachers have not heard of this kind of teaching during their faculty education and did not expect to be faced with this kind of teaching method at all, a significant number of children consider that way of teaching a normal school and social situation because they attend the first four grades of primary school in composite classes, being taught at the same time with at least two or three different levels of pupils. This thesis describes what composite classes are, what is assumed to be their origin, which advantages and disadvantages of such a way of teaching are there, what the author presumes to be their future and what a foreign (English) language teacher entering teaching should know in order to make use of all the benefits of such teaching both for the children and her/himself as a teacher. The curriculum and syllabus for composite classes should not be just a mix of two or more grades and programs. A separate programme should be designed for those specific teaching and learning conditions.
