In-practice Development of Software for Complex Organisation: Case Study of Laboratory for Non-destructive Testing
Nowadays, software as a tool for business process improvement is in the focus of many organisationsthe activities of which are related to quality control.Since the quality control implies a unified treatment of rather heterogeneous data, corresponding software needs some specific point. In order to grasp the complexity of heterogeneous data and process them in a unified way, the numerical simulation based on agent-based methodology was applied.Related to the design of laboratory for Non-destructive testing as a complex organization, simulation software is applied as a tool for visual representation of the system performance in time. The research is focused on laboratory performance where all elements are integrated and output value is laboratory efficiency. The main tool for this analysis is based on agent modeling in which the NDT laboratory consists of three elements:personnel, equipment and specimens. Elements are mutually connect in a way to forme circular interaction. Simulations were performed for realistic sets of agents using agent-based simulation tool ENTORAMA. Finally, the overall laboratory's performance is given in the respect of the number and structure of the laboratory personnel through sofrware for overall processing data.
