Sažetak
The northeastern Adriatic represents the most convective area in Croatia, particularly the Istria, with more than 60% of convective days in the warm part of the years 2006-2009. During these convective days, three dominant wind regimes on a large scale typically occurred ; SW, NE and NW wind. From the database of convective days, the three selected cases are simulated by the mesoscale WRF model (at fine resolution), which correspond to the dominant large-scale wind regimes and the associated development of cumulonimbus clouds. We have analyzed the relationship between spatial and temporal distribution of convective parameters and theirs potential to forecast the occurrence of deep moist convection. In these selected cases, convective indices have been derived from the model and radio soundings from the nearest radiosounding station, Udine. They are CAPE, CIN, RiB, L-index, K-index and TPW. The values of here calculated parameters were compared with those averaged in the period 2006-2009. They showed e.g., that CAPE and RiB had the highest mean values in the conditions of NW wind flow and consequently the lowest CIN value. The NE and SW wind regimes were accompanied by the lower atmospheric instability (CAPE, RiB) in the northern Adriatic, while the mean value of TPW for SW wind regime was the largest.
