A non-linear planar beam finite element based on fixed-pole approach

The fixed-pole approach (Borri and Bottasso, 1994 ; Bottasso and Borri, 1998) is mainly motivated by dynamic analysis of non-linear beam structures, i.e. conservation of mechanical constants in numerical time integration. By omitting the inertia terms (the nodal vector of inertial forces) the static analysis formulation is obtained, which will be discussed in this work.
