Identifying critical pilgrimage destination attributes with neural network-based importance-performance analysis: the case of Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina
This case study is based on data from a survey on attitudes and expenditures of tourists and visitors commissioned by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and conducted by the Institute for Tourism - Zagreb. In order to provide the destination management with detailed guidance for improving the overall tourist and visitor experience, an artificial neural network-based importance-performance analysis (ANNIPA) is used to identify the most critical and determinant destination attributes that deserve improvement.
