“Proceedings of the First Croatian Congress on Rural Tourism” offers around 80 precious scientific and professional contributions that deal with certain segments which encompass the rural tourism in a whole. The number and variety of treated topics reveal the complexity of the subject area, and authors approaches ways in which they understood the problems, offering guidelines, suggestions and solutions. Also, articles draw attention to a number of specificity that include rural tourism, about which to be further think and engage them more systematically. Until the appearance of this “Proceedings” there was not so comprehensive set of treated topics related to rural tourism, and is, therefore, a valuable contribution, not only scientific and professional but also the foundation that can be used for the study of rural tourism at different levels. Also, to those involved in making strategic decisions related to rural tourism. This “Proceedings” conceptually follows the work of the Congress, and it is a valuable issue that with scientific and professional approach, and case studies, covers all aspects of rural tourism and is intended for those who are on any way involved, or intend to involve in rural tourism product.
