Interpretation of the first hydrological measurements at the Blue Lake (Dinaric karst of Croatia)

The Blue Lake near Imotski (Croatia) is fascinating karst phenomena of extreme dimensions. To date it has not been sufficiently investigated. Particularly insufficient are studies of its hydrological role in local and regional terms. The hourly data of the water level, water temperature and electrical conductivity were analysed for the period between 6 Nov. 2009 at 22 h 26 min to 4 Sep. 2010 at 3 h 26 min (7, 230 hours total). It should be stressed that this is first systematic hydrological measurements made in this extremely important karst phenomenon.
