In situ synthesis of hydroxyapatite within biodegradable polymer matrix
Tissue engineering requires suitable biocompatible materials which can be used as scaffolds for the seeding with cells for the growth of a new tissue. It was suggested that nanostructured composites on the basis of biodegradable polymers and bioactive ceramics such as hydroxyapatite Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 possess the ability to simulate the surface and/or chemical properties of bone, allowing for exciting alternatives in the design of prosthesis as well as tissue engineering scaffolds1. In this work nano-hydroxyapatite (nano-HA) is synthesized In situ within biodegradable polymeric matrix from precursors solution (calcium carbonate and ureaphosphate) by sol-gel method with controlling of pH value of solution (ammonia). Composition and structure of prepared biomaterials is studied by XRD , FTIR spectroscopy, TG analysis and SEM microscopy.
