Analysis of the Influence of Multipath Effects on GPS Measurements at the Calibration Baseline of the Faculty of Geodesy, University of Zagreb
The influence of multipath effects on GPS measurements is explained in the paper, and the mathematical expressions for computing MP1 and MP2 given. For the purpose of examining and analysing of the influence of multipath effects on GPS measurements at the calibration baseline of the Faculty of Geodesy, University of Zagreb, measurements have been made using relative static methods in 8 sessions lasting 24 hours each. The testing of the influence of multipath effects MP1 and MP2 on GPS measurements has been made for all eight measurement sessions on seven pillars of the calibration baseline of the Faculty of Geodesy by applying the software TEQC. Mean values for MP1=0.2333 m and MP2=0.2390 m have been obtained, and there have been no better results found in the available literature. The calibration baseline of the Faculty of Geodesy, University of Zagreb, is located very conveniently for the purpose of performing GPS measurements, because there are no natural or man-made objects in the vicinity that could cause multipath effects or disable the receipt of the signal from the satellites.
