Some personality characteristics of regular primary school teachers who work with special needs children
We assumed that certain personality characteristics of teachers greatly influence the success of integrated child. It is therefore of particular importance to investigate different personality characteristics of such teachers, as well as their interconnections. The relations between self-esteem, locus of control, social anxiousness, extroversion, neuroticism and psychoticism were investigated on the sample of 52 female regular primary school class teachers, who work with special needs children in integrated settings. Each participant has one such child in her class, who is educated under an individualized school curriculum, while the rest of the pupils follow a regular curriculum. Initial results show the possibility of multiple prediction between self-esteem, locus of control and social anxiousness and their corelation with neuroticism, psychoticism and extroversion.
