The Influence of the Pre-crack Front Shape on the Strain Distribution Through the Thickness of the Mis-matched Welded Joint
True shape of the crack front through the thickness of fracture toughness specimen has effect on the fracture behaviour. Also, the fracture behaviour of mis-matched welded joint is affected by the interaction of different microstructures at the crack tip along the crack front. The aim of this paper is to analyse the strain state at the crack tip, as affected by heterogeneous microstructure and to evaluate the initiation of stable crack growth.
