Influence of different curing conditions on mechanical and durability properties of fly ash high strength concrete
Development of the basic mechanical and durability properties of different high strength concretes (HSC) were studied under different curing conditions. Concretes were made with addition of fly ash (0%, 10%, 20% and 30%) and with different water-cement ratio (0, 40, 0, 35, 0, 30). Two different curing regimes (laboratory conditions, on-site curing) were applied to all concrete mixtures. This paper presents a correlation between results of compressive strength and durability characteristics (chloride ion diffusion coefficient) regarding to different curing conditions - laboratory conditions and on-site conditions. The experimental results show decreasing of compressive strength for approximately 15%, while decreasing of chloride ion diffusion coefficient was few times on samples cured under on-site conditions regard to laboratory one. Results from this experimental study are useful for application of high strength concrete in structures exposed to aggressive environment.
