Dynamic analysis of CNC plasma cutting machine

This paper presents dynamic analysis of CNC plasma cutting machine. Deformations of machine parts that carry plasma torch directly affect on the quality of the technological process of machine. Displacements of the tip of plasma torch must be smaller than 0, 02 mm, which was one of the initial conditions that the machine must fulfill. Therefore, displacements of the tip of plasma torch for maximal feed rate acceleration and in the most unfavorable situation are calculated analytically and numerically (by Finite Element Method). Unwanted displacements of the plasma torch tip may occur due to resonance of certain machine parts. Therefore, the natural frequencies of some machine parts are calculated. On the existing construction were made the necessary measurements of dynamic values with the aim of identifying and proving the calculated results.
