MULTIDISCIPLINARY WAY OF SOLVING PROBLEMS – A WAY OUT OF CRISIS
The ar cle presents a successful example of coopera on between educa onal ins tu ons and woodworking enterprises in the fi eld of developing new products. The project involved students and mentors from the Academy of Design, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Chemistry Ins tute from Ljubljana and the Faculty of Forestry in Zagreb. The project was carried out according to the principle of D’school - classes as educa onal units composed of interdisciplinary teams of students and supervisors. D’school is based on design thinking and it emphasises the importance of diff erent sciences and their coopera on with the aim to solve complex problems. The results of the project are 56 designs. 7 of them will be patented due to their original concept of construc on and 6 of them will be presented at the Interna onal furniture fair in Ljubljana.
