The use of various mathematical equations for textile colorant computer match prediction
Various mathematical equations are used for the computer-based calculation of colour difference (DE), with the aim of giving an objective evaluation of the samples dyed. The question arises in practice, which of the proposed equations should be implemented. The following equations are used in the paper: CMC (Lac), BFD (l:c) and CIE 94. Values obtained are compared and differences in colour space predicted where they are most pronounced. All the measurements are done for red hues. Better matches are obtained between BFD and CIE 94than between CMC and CIE 94 equations, while the disproportion occurs in the chromacity range of C*< 40. The range of colour disagreement is obtained by defining the relationship between R-BDF and R-CMC, which is of a key importance for computer based colour space.
