Religiosity, Socio-economic Status and Acces to Public Services
This paper examines relationship between self-reported religiosity, religious practices, indicators of socio-economic status and equality of access to health services and education in Croatia. More specifically, paper attempts to provide an insight into inter-group differences in perception if it is just that wealthier members of society can afford public services of higher quality. The issues of social justice and religiosity are carefully considered within specific religious and economic context of Croatia. The paper is based on the data from Croatian national dataset from ISSP 2009 module “Social Inequality IV”. For the purposes of this paper a nationally representative sample of adult participants who declared themselves Catholics was used. Preliminary results indicate that different groups of respondents report differing response patterns with regards to equality of access to public services of wealthier members of society.
