This work describes and analyses the relevant social - political context of Croatia responsible for the Croatia`s educational system and its various problems. The description covers all parts and sections of the the contemporary education system in Croatia, including the preschool, elementary, secondary, higher and adult education. This work discusses the major developmental trends of, and problems in education and training of teachers, and outlines the legislative framework of the Croatia`s education system and ways of its management. It also describes and discusses the major changes, shortcomings and problems in education which are determined by the present social scene in Croatia, and outlines possible trends of development Croatia`s education system in the near future.
