Influence of Staphylococcus Epidermis Kind HD on Wool Fibre
The public has become increasingly afraid of harmful or toxic substances in daily life. Nowadays even textiles are suspected to be a danger to human health. For example, in the medical and healthcare areas was found that an average of 9% patients become infected during their treatment. Transmission of bacteria by contaminated textiles could be major cause of this. Wool fibre is similar to hair and human skin. Futhermore it is a protein fibre, and the chemistry of proteins is immensely complicated. Recently, an additional issue came into discussion: Does wool as protein fibre protect man from bacteria?
