PHYLOGENETIC ANALYSIS OF INFECTIOUS PANCREATIC NECROSIS VIRUS (IPNV) FROM CROATIAN AND HERZEGOVINIAN (FBIH) FARMS
Regular virological examinations of rainbow trout on Croatian farms revealed a presence of infectious pancreas necrosis virus (IPNV). The aim of this study was to compare Croatian and Herzegovinian isolates in order to clarify the possible uncontrolled trade between two neighbouring countries. A part of VP2/NS junction region of the genome segment A of IPNV isolated from 4 Croatian and 6 Bosnian farms was amplified using the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Obtained nucleotide and deduced amino acid sequences were analyzed and compared with those of other previously described Croatian isolates and other representative strains of IPNV A2 serotype. At the nucleotide level, Croatian and Bosnian IPNV isolates were 99-100% identical to each other and 99, 6-100% to Spanish isolate Sp1146. Croatian isolate Cro-111/10 were the most divergent among our isolates and shared 99, 3% identity to isolate Sp1146. It also shared unique amino acid site with isolates Sp-116 (Denmark) and N1 (Norway). Phylogenetically Croatian and Bosnian isolates were related and clustered with other representative of genogroup III strains.
