Computational non-linear analysis of structural stability
The paper presents the non-linear stability analysis using finite element method and updated Lagrangian incremental formulation. In the case of thin-walled beam finite element with doubly symmetric open cross-section the tangent stiffness matrix is obtained including the second-order terms of finite rotations. Material is assumed to be linear elastic. Obtained numerical results are compared with those from the linear stability analysis.
