Contribution to the examination of railroad steel track composition purity
The paper spells out results of investigation of steel track composition purity: 900A, 900B and 700. The study included detection of partial slag numbers for four main groups of nonmetallic inclusion by process of comparison according to JK scale. The most frequent nonmetallic inclusions encountered in all three tested types of steels were sulfide inclusions, followed by oxide and aluminium inclusions. Total slag number, i.e. degree of composition purity of steel tracks ranged from 2.0 to 4.1, which is considered as common value for these sorts of steels.
