LEARNING AND TEACHING STRATEGIES FOR COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT
In higher education teaching strategies are not an unambiguously defined term, but most cases it is related to planned activities for a successful organization of the learning process. Strategicbeginnings are defined by the teacher, determining their and the students' position, the role of the teaching content, the choice and the teaching methods and procedures exchange, in order to achieve the anticipated competencies. Methods and procedures are generalized patterns of behavior that can be applied in different teaching areas. To acquire competencies, it is necessary the use of active teaching methods and procedures which include emotional and intellectual involvement of students in the learning process, with the integration of cognitive and practical activities and taking responsibilitiy for learning on their own.
