Sažetak
This paper presents a method for accessing data from a micro-controller embedded system (specifically an access control system) through Ethernet interface. The acquired data is displayed on a LabVIEW application running on a PC and the data is sent through Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) LAN. The idea is to create a user friendly application on a PC and connect the application to the embedded system using Ethernet and UDP. The embedded system is based on AVR architecture and Ethernet SPI module where the data is stored on micro Secure Digital (microSD) data card. The communication protocol for data exchange is conceived with added redundancy check in a form of a checksum. The major advantage of this method is the use of Ethernet LAN to relay data between the embedded system and user application, as opposed to existing systems that use communication protocols like USART (RS232 or RS485) and CAN. Testing of the proposed method is carried out using network protocol analysis, and the future improvements of the proposed method are shown.
