Istraživanje makrobentosa u podmorju Nacionalnog parka 'Mljet' - naselja voge (Posidonia oceanica (L.) Del.)
During summer of 1995 and 1996 the macrobenthos was surveyed at 22 sites along the south-western and north-western coast of the National Park "Mljet", 10 sites in Mljet Lakes (sea lakes "Veliko jezero" and "Malo jezero"), and one situated 2 Nm south-east from the Cape Goli (MLJ- K1). Transects were mostly investigated to the depth of 40 meters using the method of SCUBA- diving, except the MLJ-K1 station where samples were collected by trawl from the depth of 150 m. Biocoenosis of Posidonia oceanica meadows was the most dominant and most distributed plant community in the area, especially along the western coast, where Posidonia beds were settled on gravely, sandy and detritic bottoms in the depth between 3 and 25 meters. In Pomena bay Posidonia reached to the very surface of the sea. On steep sloped bottoms along the southern coast Posidonia beds were often found in form of small patches. In shallow area of Gonoturska bay (including stations MLJ-11, MLJ-12, MLJ-19 and MLJ-20), abundant meadows were noted. Wide meadows were also observed along the north coast of National Park "Mljet" that will be investigated in the summer 1997, when the list of animal and plant species in biocoenosis of Posidonia meadows is expected to extend.
