Sažetak
Ceramic industry in the world has a significant impact to the environment due to emissions to the air, soil and water that adversely affects wildlife, people and human health. The negative impacts of ceramic industry can be reduced by investing in better and cleaner technology. In this work is described the methodology for diminishing of harmful influences to the environment and her application. The production process of ceramic tiles in mono-firing technology is described. The possibilities of decrease of harmful influence of particular phases of this process are analyzed. This paper describes the application of new methods to assess the impact and reduce the environmental impact of ceramic industry: methodology of clean production and method for increasing of energy efficiency (ECO- Energy Conservation Opportunity). The clean production methodology enables the evaluation of particular phases of life cycle of ceramic tiles by choosing of weight coefficients of particular criteria. The environmental influences are reduced by increasing the energy efficiency of production also. The presented results were analyzed by applying cleaner production methods and other methods for increasing energy efficiency and diminishing of harmful influences to the environment. These methods were applied in ceramic tiles factory KIO Keramika d.o.o. in Orahovica. This factory works by technology of mono-firing by standards HRN EN I 14 411 group B III part L. The certified management systems of by standards ISO- 9001 and ISO 14001 are used.
