Primjena prijenosa radiosignala svjetlovodnim nitima u VHF komunikaciji brod – obala

The paper presents a new conceptual idea for VHF ship-to-shore communications, including Radio over Fiber technology. The presented communications model are defined and investigated on the basis of behaviour analysis of the actual VHF ship-to-shore communications in the distress events, search and rescue (SAR) activities and the so called private communications as well. The aim of this paper is to achieve a realistic basis for further research by combining conventional radio communications with fibre optic networks. The main goal is to provide fast, reliable and efficient SAR actions. Two case studies are presented and analyzed here. The obtained results indicate a considerable improvement in SAR operations and an increasing VHF communications capacity.
