A mechanism of laser cutting as mechanically flexible tool with heat effect and other factors entering the process of disintegration of material is a problem of analytical approximation, elaboration and description. Compared to previous approach to the solution, we have chosen our own way and we focus on mechanical respectively stress- strain parameters of material being cut and mechanical balance system: material properties – tool properties – deformation properties. The basic forms of prediction equations for calculating the roughness of cutting walls are being presented here, as well as other equations which were being derived by modifying the basic equations for different application purposes, especially to calculate optimum traverse speed Vpopt, optimal laser performance Wtopt and technologically important optimal ratio INDvpwopt=Vpopt/Wtopt. These contains easily available input variables for substitution. The basic forms including the modified forms allow to perform a mathematical modeling of the cut to the depth limits of materials and with respect to the surface quality of materials. The paper presents the method of optimization of the ratio between traverse speed Vp and performance of tool Wt which minimizes the final surface roughness after cutting with a direct impact on corrosion resistance of materials.
