Production technology, structure and properties of Cu–W layered composite condensed materials for electrical contacts
A technology for obtaining condensed gradient composite materials of the Cu–W system by means of high-speed electron-beam evaporation–condensation is developed. Changes of the structure, electrical conductivity, hardness, mechanical properties, fracture in tension of the Cu–W condensed material at ambient and elevated temperatures depending on the content of tungsten and thermal treatment are investigated. New morphological peculiarities of the condensed composite material that cause changes in the material properties are found. Relationships and correlation dependences are established between the content of tungsten, structure, strength and hardness of the composite.
