The results of testing herbicides Methabenzthiazuron, Chlortoluron and Terbutrin for the control of Apera spica-venti in wheat
Of all mentioned weed species in cereals only Apera spica-venti has more significance in Croatia, while the number of others was too small to affect to yield. The number of A.s.venti on certain in North-West Croatia (Virovitica, Pod. Slatina, Orahovica, Nova Gradiška, Kutina, Garešnica and Hercegovac) was so large, that it would be impossible to grow cereals unless adequate herbicides were applied. An experiment was set up at Lipovljani (Novska) in autumn 1970 and in spring 1971, with the purpose of testing a few recent herbicides.
