Application of Terrestrial Laser Scanner in Monitoring of Forest

Information about the current situation and recent changes in forest ecosystems are an important basis for planning and management. One of the newest methods in surveying is terrestrial 3D laser scanner that has found great use in measuring forestry parameter. This method gets more precise and accurate data of tree height, stem volume and forest biomass and is highly applicable in monitoring of changes and damages in forest ecosystems. Possibility of collecting large amounts of 3D spatial data in a short time, offers us a new way in forest monitoring.
