Arheološka iskopavanja u Donjem Čelu na Koločepu 1969. godine.
The author dedicated this paper to Ivica Žile, hie early deceased friend and colleague, remembering some other dear people who took part during the archaeological excavations of a Roman structure on the island of Koločep at Donje Čelo in 1969, who are not among us any more. The author refers to Ms Dubravka Beritić (*Sustjepan, Nov. 3, 1917, +Krško, Jan 31, 2003), an unrepeatable legend od Dubrovnik and Croatian conservationist service, generally called gospođa Beba, to whom thanks go for these excavations, as well as to Ms Branka Knežević (*Zagreb, Oct 26, 1940, + Dec 11, 1990), called Seka, who carried out these research at the beginning, to her youngest sister Mirjana (*Zagreb, Mar 3, 1942, +Oct 3, 1998), called Mika, and subsequently to Ms Ankica Šotrić, a young lady of Dubrovnik. The excavations began on August 18 and ended on October 1, 1969. The discovered Roman storeroom for olive oil and/or wine, divided by a partition wall into two large rooms, was more than 60 metres long and c. 10 metres wide, and it also had several smaller rooms attached along its northeastern side. The finds consisted chiefly of fragments of amphorae and their lids, which still remain unpublished.
