Sažetak
Chloramphenicol muscle residue levels in rainbow trout were determined after oral administration of a dosage of 84 g kg−1day−1 over a four-day period. Sampling was conducted the day prior to treatment and for 43 days following the cessation of treatment. Drug analysis was performed using an in-house enzyme linked immunoassay (ELISA) validated to the criteria of Commission Decision 2002/657/EC. Validation parameters indicated that the method is appropriate for the detection of chloramphenicol at levels below MRPL level of 0.3 μg kg−1. The highest chloramphenicol levels were observed on the first day after the end of treatment (144.3 μg kg−1). Elimination occurred with significant efficiency during the first seven days: significant differences were detected between days 1 and 3 (p < 0.001), 3 and 5 (p < 0.001), 5 and 7 (p < 0.05). The chloramphenicol dosage dropped below the MRPL level (0.171 μg kg−1) on day 9 after the end of treatment. In the withdrawal period from 11 to 43 days, chloramphenicol residues were detectable in a range from a maximum of 91.4 to a minimum of 11.2 ng kg−1. The results presented show that trout tissue could be considered compliant for consumption with no potential risk to health after a 10-day withdrawal period.
