The Difference Between Motor Abilities of Preschool Children After one Year of Kindergarten Physical Education Treatment

The aim of this study was to analyze the differences in motor abilities between preschool boys and girls after one year of Kindergarten physical education treatment. A battery of 6 motor tests has been applied on the sample of 38 boys and 28 girls at the age of six from three Kindergartens in Zagreb. By application of t-test it was determined that in initial measurement the boys were significantly better in test evaluating explosive strength, whereas the girls were better in tests evaluating flexibility and balance. In final measurement the boys and girls enhance their skills in all tests. The boys stayed significantly better in explosive strength, whereas the girls stayed better in balance. Furthermore, after intervention program the boys significantly improved their abilities in coordination and agility, while girls significantly improved their abilities in coordination, agility and frequency of movement. The result of these study confirm that sex differences in motor performance occur at early childhood, also it was found that there was a certain impact of physical education treatment on the participants in all motor abilities.
