Using Screencasts in Computer Programming Courses
The paper researches the use of screencasts in computer programming courses in higher education. Screencasts are video captures of the activity that is taking place on the computer screen, which can prove to be useful when presenting and demonstrating computer activity. A pilot research is currently taking place at the University of Rijeka, Faculty of maritime Studies, where teachers and students enrolled in the programming course are testing screencasts to assess their usability in higher education. Preliminary results show great potential, and the need for future research.
