LOGISTICS SYSTEMS IN TOURISM
Logistics systems are defined as area and temporal transformation of goods, information, energy, people, capital and knowledge, which by means of network organisation aim the processes towards producing products of high quality at low costs. These systems are complex and dynamic, with emphasized role of man, which influences on its stochastic behaviour on one hand, and on the other hand on the possibility of efficient management. One of the most important achievements of logistics is its expansion in the field of service activities, which has led to application on tourism. Logistics in tourism is considered to be an optimisation of goods, people, information, energy, knowledge, capital, waste (as well as water) flows, with the aim to produce a high quality tourism service at minimum costs, and at tourists' satisfaction. Basically tourism consists of: hospitality, agency activities, traffic, tourist attractions organisation and organisation and management of tourist destination. Logistics systems in tourism differ according to extensiveness and model applied in tourism enterprises. The direct influence of business systems integration in tourism has its consequence in higher quality tourism service, accompanied by lower costs of production. This is namely valid for hospitality subsystems. Therefore in this paper special attention will be given to hospitality logistics subsystem. Possibilities and limits of logistics will be elaborated on this subsystem.
