Is QT dispersion risk marker for complex ventricular arrhythmia
We wanted to establish the correlation between QT dispersion and ventricular arrhythmia, as well as the influence of infarction size on QT dispersion. Three hundred and three patients three months after myocardial infarction and 21 healthy examinees were included. QT dispersion significantly increases with the severity of ventricular arrhythmia (PVCs vs VT;63 vs 85 ms), and the level of 80 ms predicted ventricular tachycardia with the best ratio of sensitivity and specificity. QT dispersion also significantly increased with the infarction size (0.12 vs 33% of LV myocardium; 62 vs 75 ms). QT dispersion is a risk marker for ventricular tachycardia and it significantly depends on infarction size.
