Nickel toxicity on the planarian Polycelis felina (Daly.) species in laboratory conditions
Nickel-chloride at higher temperature caused highest mortality and most distinct changes in behaviour, morphological and histological changes in structure of planarians. In blastema was evident decreased number of neoblasts. It was one of the reasons for the increased death rate of the posterior body parts of treated animals. Posterior regenearates are more sensitive to the treatment with nickel-chloride due to a lower number of neoblasts, which are necessary for an successful regeferation.
