Integration of the Ship – Environment – Pilot System Elements
The proposed paper elaborates the dynamical integration concept of vessel's INS with the surrounding in cases of port entrance and departure, passing through dangerous and particular navigational areas, channels, and every other maneuvering-sensitive situation where the pilot's presence is essential. The mentioned surrounding covers static elements like information of the ship's final assigned point/berth, information provided regarding local meteorological conditions including current weather situation, and dynamical elements that are tugs involved in the venture and other. Connecting with all sources of information, with the aid of sophisticated portable device, the pilot becomes the center of the system ensuring high-grade level and reliable ship management, consisted of safe coastal navigation and berthing/unberthing of the vessel.
