The aim of the thesis is investigation of surface energy, roughness and other properties of NBR, EPDM and silicone rubber blankets, modification of the surface properties with oxygen and nitrogen plasma treatment and defunctionalization of the surface applying different lasers. Characterization of the surface energy by contact angle measurements, SEM, XPS and roughness analysis of the investigated elastomers and their components, gives a quantitative description of plasma specific radicals and specific surface functional groups that are in correlation with the surface energy, polarity and other surface characteristics of the mentioned materials.
