Group treatment of learning difficulties at a University Counselling Centre
University students with different kinds of learning difficulties have been involved in group treatment based on behavioral-cognitive principles. The following techniques have been used: self-monitoring, self-reinforcement, activity scheduling, identification and evaluation of negative automatic thoughts, identification and estimation of negative emotions. The results till today are encouraging, showing more time spent in learning activities, higher satisfaction with own achievements, higher mood, better results on the exams, less negative automatic thoughts and more efficient coping with them.
