Determining freeze-thaw resistance : corelation air voids and freeze-thaw cycles

Determination of air voids characteristics in hardened concrete, and concrete exposing to freezing/thawing cycles help us to determine concrete resistance to freezing with and without deicing agents. Automatic air void analysis sistem for characterising the air void system of hardened concrete require approximately 90 min with minimum 7 days old concrete. Concrete exposing to freezing/thawing cycles require approximately 28 days for 28 cycles and approximately 56 days for 56 cycles with minimum 28 days old concrete. Correlations among those two methods for concrete resistance determination has been represent in this paper.
